China Garden in Saint Joseph

Had the worst experience with China Garden. Called an order in & was given 1 price over the phone & I get there & given a different price. So I questioned it & got attitude from "Wing". Not to mention their prices aren't even up to date online. From the beginning she was not friendly & had a very smart mouth. I told her I'd take my business else where & in response got, "it doesn't matter". Granted I'm sure my $10 won't make or break their business, but still not an excuse for the attitude. & certainly not an excuse for her lack of professionalism. Their food is mediocre anyways. I WON'T be back!

Amazing Vegetarian options. Taste great!! Clean environment and fast paced compared to other China restaurant in area. Sadly, China Garden was closed when it snowed really bad, i tried a different restaurant Lees Chinese or something or another it was called, it smelled like someone died in there! That's $16.00 i could've saved and spent at China Garden for lunch this week. Oh well, lesson learned LOL.

We stopped to get carryout after spending the day at the beach. The service was nice and friendly. Food was ready quickly. The food was delicious! Especially the general tso chicken!

Food is decent, probably best Chinese in southwest michigan, but that's not saying much. Customer service is extremely lacking. If you call and they're busy you'll either be disconnected get a dial tone or they'll pick up ask you to hold and instantly hang up. Price isn't as low as people state and the portions are iffy. Taste is also ALWAYS different, have never experienced the same dish twice and that's not a good thing. Moo's place is ten-15 minutes down the highway inbetween Coloma and Watervliet. Worth the extra drive, but if you're not willing to drive then I would reccomend China garden over anyone else in the area.

This is a great place to go for good quality food that is fresh and cooked hot, that costs less than $10. It is very difficult to find other restaurants that offer this. The menu also boasts quite a variety and if you like any kind of American/Chinese cuisine you are bound to find something you love, including vegetarian options. Note that this is a to-go or casual sit down place where you are brought your food fast; you are not coddled by servers and need to get your own drink refills from the fountain. That is fine by me. It keeps prices low and allows you to get a quick quality meal, great if you are in a time crunch for a lunch break.

Their food was not that great and the lady on the cashier was very rude

Fast and friendly takeout service, and lots of vegetarian options. The general tso's tofu, vegetable lo mein, and fried rice were hot, flavorful and generously portioned. The interior is a little worn and dated, but we'll definitely order again!

Best in the county

The veggie lunch special is the best healthy lunch option in the area. I also like that everyone in the back is shouting in Cantonese when they make your food.

Worth taking the exit from I 94 and going out of the way.Its a small quiet place! Very simple and delicious food! Good friendly service too. We had shrimp with garlic sauce and mixed vegetables, very tasty.

Horrible. The beef and chicken stir fry was pork and/or chicken rectum meat. I ordered beef stir fry, what the beef looked like was a half see through meat, grisly and/or fat tissue. Their was no vegetables except 6 or 8 pieces of carrots. 2 peas. Barely any onion. The rice was like drenched with some sort of sauce. I took 1 quart of beef stir fry and 2 quarts of chicken stir fry, we payed 44.00 and was only refunded 18.00. I complained that the meat was not beef, they told me it was beef flank. Wow..Really.. Lies is all I got. Their food is gross and anyone who has a choice for Asian food, please look else where or your brain and your stomach will suffer.

Great food, so many choices and no skimping on the portions either. We eat here often and have never had a bad meal. Everyone is fast, efficient and friendly. Highly recommend!!

Little family owned place. Good food and prices

I debated eating here after some of the reviews but I'm from out of town so figured I'll try it. Extremely nice service, atleast my experience and the food was great. Priced a decent bit less then my home town also.

This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. Very good sweet and sour chicken. The crab ragoon is the best.

Our favorite in town. Fast service. Can be a long line for pickup at peak times. After 6:30 PM not so bad.

This restaurant has THE BEST Chinese food in the area. I don’t eat anywhere else. Clean restaurant and you can see them making your food in a clean kitchen. Delicious 😋

Best chinese food in this area. We have been regular customers for 7+ years and are never disappointed. Friendly staff and awesome food at a reasonable price. You cant beat the value of the combination plates, tons of food for under 9$. Will continue to frequent this establishment.

Very nice and friendly staff. They remember their regulars and their usual order. Clean, food is consistently great, no frills so great prices. If you like spicy order the chicken lo mein “extra spicy”. That or general tso chicken. 🌶🌶 I eat there once a week. Traditionally, customers bus their own tables, NBD.

Best Chinese take out in our area. Huge selection, big portions, reasonably priced.

My family goes here often. The service is fast, the portions large and it is well made and tastes great. You could bring a large family here and know that everyone will be happy with something on the menu and the bill wont empty your wallet.

They are fast, reliable, and have consistently tasty food. My wife and I have never had better spring rolls. Our go to has been the beef and broccoli and now shrimp and broccoli, but you can hardly go wrong. Food is often ready in 10-15m. This is our go-to for Chinese food

October, 2017. I had the Chicken Low Mein lunch special, served with fried rice. It is as good as I remember from the many meals that I have eaten here over the past several years. The food wasn't fantastic. It didn't knock my socks off. It filled my belly without emptying my wallet. The staff is not here for chit chat but the service is fast. I definitely plan to eat here again in the future.

Cheap eats no frills... Foods ok... waitress could be more pleasant... Always seems rushed... It's like hurry up and order. Now closed on Tuesday and raised their prices

Been going here for nearly 15 years. Consistently excellent and fast. I would say get the Crab Rangoon, General Tso, Bourbon Chicken, Hot Sour Soup, House Special Lo Mien, Garlic Chicken and the dragon phoenix.

Really good food, reasonable prices

The cashier here was rude and impatient while my friends and I were ordering. She gave us looks and then we told her we wanted it to-go and she brought it out on plates when it was ready...? And then when we reminded her that we said to-go she rolled her eyes and gave us another look. There’s not even chopsticks here.

I ordered a take-out meal from China Garden recently after not going their for over a year. If you are looking for an average, medium priced, Chinese food then this is probably a good choice for you. The interior has a handful of tables for dinning in, however, I am lead to believe that 80%+ of customers are take-out orders. Overall, I don't have anything negative to say about the food, however, I also don't have anything great to say either. In my opinion it is your average Chinese food and one of your only options in the St. Joseph area unless you go out to Benton Harbor.
